October 18, 2025, is my sobriety date and the day I made the life-changing decision to admit myself into treatment. That decision changed the course of my life.
While in treatment, I was surrounded by Peer Support Specialists and Behavioral Health Technicians who were also in recovery and used their own experiences to help those of us still struggling with addiction. Watching them support and encourage others is when I realized, this is what I want to do for the rest of my life.
Helping people in need has always been a passion of mine. Just 1 Life gave me the opportunity, knowledge, and skills to take the next step toward my career in the Behavioral Health field.
I am proud to say that I am now PRSS certified, and I am currently attending Grand Canyon University, pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Health Science.
I am incredibly grateful to Just 1 Life and especially my instructor, Heather Jensen, for everything she has done throughout my training. Heather was phenomenal. She was professional, knowledgeable, encouraging, and made me feel welcomed and comfortable throughout the entire curriculum.
My recovery journey has given me a new purpose, and I’m excited to use what I’ve learned to help others find hope and believe that change is possible.

My instructor Stephen was a great teacher and very helpful with helping me to properly understand and comprehend the material being taught. I recently got my prss certification through Just One Life Services and was extremely grateful for my instructor Shawna for taking the time to answer my questions and make sure that I was confident in moving forward. I will definitely continue using Just One Life Services I would recommend them to anyone who has a busy schedule but is interested in getting their peer support certification, my instructor was very understanding of my schedule was willing to work around it and make sure that everything worked out in my best interest in the end.
